My eldest daughter currently attends Stanground St Johns Primary, and my youngest is also due to be educated here in the future. I feel that as a parent it is important to ensure that the best standards of education are available to not only my children, but to all of the children who attend this school. As a leader within local Law Enforcement, I feel that I can also bring a valuable set of skills and experience to the role, particularly in the area of safeguarding and vulnerability, and assist the Governing board in developing their vision and strategy for the school. I am also excited to learn new skills, undertake valuable training courses, and develop further as a Leader within the local community. Finally, I believe that becoming a Governor is a way of giving something back in return for my own time spent in education.
Role & Responsibilities:
Parent Governor – Safeguarding Link Governer
Interests:
I spend a lot of my time supporting both my own growing family, and also the wider communities thorough my occupational role, helping to ensure residents are safeguarded from harm. I also have experience attending Joint Safeguarding meetings with key partner agencies, such as Housing, Social Work, NHS, Fire & the Ambulance Service. In my spare time I enjoy socialising with friends, going to the cinema, and hopping on my bicycle to explore the countryside.
Background:
I have 14 years' experience working within the Police Force, and during this time have served Communities within both in England and Scotland, undertaking a wide variety of roles, including Emergency Response and Community Liaison, where safeguarding the most vulnerable within society was at the very heart of my work. I am now in a leadership role and work hard to command and direct my team, striving to provide an effective response to incidents reported by the public, prioritising those of the highest threat, risk and harm. I believe that my skills are well suited to the role of Safeguarding Link Governor and look forward to working with the team here at Stanground St Johns Primary.
