What a Wonderful end of a term!
What a wonderful term it has been. Our children have shown every day how committed they are to learning and our school values of Love, Joy and Respect. Visitors regularly compliment them on their kindness and respect. Our parent survey also showed how happy and safe children feel in our school.
As well as working hard on their class learning, our children have had some wonderful opportunities including:
· Mrs Sheridan and Miss Munday took a group of Year 3, 4 and 5 pupils to our first every trust wide Carol Concert in Ely Cathedral.
· Miss Henriques and the girls’ football team are thoroughly enjoying taking part in competitive games.
· The Friends of SJJ Christmas Fayre and discos were very popular events.
· Our school kitchen did a superb job of serving delicious Christmas Lunch to our pupils, where they enjoyed being served by and eating with their teachers.
· Our Reception and Key Stage 1 Nativity yesterday was a joy to be part of.
· Today has been our final Church Christmas Service of the year. The whole school took turns to tell the Nativity story and sing and pray together.
· Our top scoring Class Dojo pupils of the term also enjoyed a reward visit to the Coffee Hive for cakes.
Fund-raising
Thank you to for all the donations to the Reception ‘Spring Chicks’ fund. We have raised £145.
Ticket sales for the Nativity also raised £169 for Mary’s Child.
The Friends of SJJ Christmas Fayre raised £98.
Getting Involved in School
It has been lovely to see so many parents and families involved in our school over recent weeks. There are lots of opportunities to be more regularly involved.
· We currently have a vacancy for a governor on our very supportive Governing Body (please contact chair@stanground-st-johns.peterborough.sch.uk if you are interested)
· Volunteers are also warmly welcome to join our Friends association. Please get in touch with friends@stanground-st-johns.peterborough.sch.uk if you are able to help.
· We also welcome volunteers to help in school, supporting pupils and teachers. For this please contact the office and you will be asked to complete a form, offer references and we will apply for a DBS check on your behalf.
May I finally wish you and your families a very happy Christmas and I look forward to seeing you back to school on Monday 8th January 2024.
Mrs Hindmarsh.
