I am delighted to welcome back all our pupils and staff to a new school year.
Welcome to our new School blog.
This will be updated regularly with news and events, and will replace the previous newsletters. Along with our new website, this should improve communication for parents and ensure you are fully engaged in our school community.
Our new Reception class is settling in well and the children begin their first full days of school next week. They are quickly learning our school routines and expectations and are a delight to meet. We also welcome several new faces across the school. We have new pupils joining us from different countries as well as local schools, and they are soon settling in. Mrs Heidi Thomas also joins us as a Year 3 Teacher and Miss Hannah Jones as an Early Years Teaching Assistant. We are lucky to have such enthusiastic and dedicated staff joining our team.
There was a definite theme in our weekly Celebration Worship on Friday: 'Ready to Learn'. All the pupils chosen daily model respect and readiness to learn. These values and behaviours are so important to their success in school. It was so pleasing to hear how pupils are scholar sitting, consistently tracking the speaker and wasting no learning time in engaging with their work.
Our Year 6 leaders are also taking their new responsibilities extremely seriously. The Collective Worship committee help to set up and deliver worship daily. Our School Captains are also key to improving behaviour in our school and, among many other roles, help to monitor and teach our Conduct Curriculum.
